Real Estate Professionals: Meet the People Shaping Property Markets

Cresa, the world’s largest tenant-only commercial real estate firm, has continued its global expansion by adding two new professionals to its Houston office. John Furnace, formerly with Newmark Knight Frank, joins Cresa as a vice president and will oversee all phases of project management in the Houston market. Bryan Strong has been hired as research director. The appointments were announced by André Granello, managing principal of Cresa’s Houston office.

NAI Partners has named Gary Brown to lead its newly formed Valuation and Advisory practice. Brown, who previously worked with Altus Group, will manage a range of services including real estate appraisal and advisory, property tax consulting, feasibility and market studies, due diligence, and capital markets research, according to Jon Silberman, managing partner at NAI Partners.

Skanska USA promoted industry veteran Dennis Yung to executive vice president and general manager for its Houston and Dallas operations. With more than 30 years of commercial construction experience, Yung—who joined Skanska in 1999—will be based in the company’s Houston office and will oversee regional construction activities and strategic growth initiatives.

Diane Gilbert-Guthrie

Stonemark Management, based in Atlanta, appointed multifamily industry executive Diane Gilbert-Guthrie as Regional Vice President. Gilbert-Guthrie will oversee Stonemark’s management portfolios across Texas and Tennessee. Based in Texas, she was honored as the Houston Apartment Association Executive of the Year in 2019.

Global architecture and design firm Gensler continues to strengthen resilient design in its South Central region by adding Design Director Lance Hosey to its Austin office. Transferring from Gensler’s San Diego office, Hosey will serve as Global Co-Leader of Design Resilience while supporting regional design initiatives and client partnerships from Austin.

Transwestern Development announced the addition of Gayle Blakeley Farris as Regional Partner focusing on Life Sciences and Healthcare projects, expanding the firm’s expertise in specialized development sectors.

McCarthy Building Companies has appointed Kamecia Mason as diversity director, a role that will focus on advancing inclusion and equity initiatives across the company’s operations and workforce development programs.

Crescent Communities promoted Peter Petricca to managing director, placing him in charge of the firm’s multifamily operations in Dallas and entrusting him with leadership over development, asset management, and regional multifamily strategy.
