HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – A joint venture between Patrinely Group, USAA Real Estate and CDC Houston has topped out construction on Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s new campus in CityPlace, the urban and commercial center of Springwoods Village, a 2,000‑acre master‑planned community in north Houston.
The HPE campus marks the fifth major corporate headquarters to select CityPlace and Springwoods Village, joining HP Inc., Southwestern Energy, the American Bureau of Shipping and the expansive Exxon Mobil campus near Interstate 45.
Scheduled for completion in spring 2022, the HPE campus consists of two five‑story buildings at the southwest corner of East Mossy Oaks Road and Lake Plaza Drive, providing approximately 440,000 square feet of rentable space. Each level of the paired buildings is connected by bridge walkways for easy circulation, and structured parking accommodates 2,055 vehicles.
“We are very pleased with the continued momentum of Springwoods Village as CityPlace becomes the new urban center in north Houston,” said Warren Wilson, executive vice president of CDC Houston, the master developer of Springwoods Village. “Major employers are recognizing the strategic advantages of Springwoods Village’s location and its high‑quality, walkable, mixed‑use environment as we build an unparalleled employment hub.”
Architecture by Pickard Chilton
Pickard Chilton serves as design architect, Kirksey as executive architect, REES as interior architect, and D.E. Harvey Builders as general contractor. Ronnie Deyo and Beau Bellow of JLL represented HPE, while Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group and Chrissy Wilson and Russell Hodges of JLL represented the landlord.
Designed as a primary location for core research and development, the HPE Houston campus will support customer engagement, sales operations, supply chain and global corporate functions including finance, human resources and marketing.
“We are proud to announce this significant milestone for HPE and applaud our team for their dedication in keeping the project on schedule despite the challenges of the COVID‑19 pandemic,” said Robert Fields, president and CEO of Patrinely Group, the managing partner of the joint venture. “We remain confident in the strength and appeal of CityPlace as a vibrant, 18‑hour mixed‑use destination in north Houston.”
Onsite amenities will include a fitness center, café, kitchen and pharmacy, laboratory and office space, and a large central courtyard featuring a multi‑use basketball pavilion, a fitness and yoga lawn, a water feature, outdoor tables and seating, recreational games and an expansive greenspace lawn. Adjacent to HPE’s Executive Briefing Center, a fully landscaped roof terrace will overlook the central courtyard. The development is planned to achieve at least LEED Silver certification.
Springwoods Village is located in the northernmost part of Harris County, north of the Grand Parkway and near the Hardy Toll Road, providing convenient regional access.
