Spencer Ogden Signs Lease for Downtown Houston Office at GreenStreet

GreenStreet, a mixed-use project in downtown Houston, by Midway Cos. and Lionstone Investments.

HOUSTON – Spencer Ogden, a London-based recruitment firm specializing in energy, engineering and infrastructure, announced plans to triple the size of its Houston office and relocate to GreenStreet at 1201 Fannin in downtown Houston.

Bill Boyer and Collin Grimes of CBRE represented the tenant in the transaction. Damon Thames, Connor Saxe and Vince Drake of Colvill Office Properties represented the landlord.

The company will occupy approximately 12,000 square feet within GreenStreet, a 570,000-square-foot mixed-use development that spans three blocks in downtown Houston. Developed by Houston-based Midway, GreenStreet combines office space, retail, dining and entertainment around The Lawn, a central open-air green space. Current and recent GreenStreet tenants include III Forks, McCormick & Schmick’s, House of Blues, Lucky Strike and NRG’s regional headquarters.

Valencia Hotels and Midway are also developing Hotel Alessandra, a 223-room luxury hotel scheduled to open at GreenStreet this fall.

Spencer Ogden’s new Houston office will feature an open floor plan designed to reflect the firm’s distinctive style while prioritizing functionality and collaboration.

“We want the new office to be a surprise for our employees. While we’ll always push for functionality, each office has a unique look specific to their location,” said David Bumby, Head of Operations for Spencer Ogden’s North American region. “The Houston office is no different; we have a very open concept with a mixture of polished concrete floors, AstroTurf, cowhide furniture and an Old World, Texas feel. This will be an exciting reveal for our local team.”

Although some companies might hesitate to adopt bold design elements in a corporate environment, Bumby says that approach fits Spencer Ogden’s brand and culture. “People look forward to visiting our offices and seeing our brand on display as much as they enjoy working with us. Our unique style sets us apart and our offices are a great visualization of the Company.”

Signature features such as Spencer Ogden’s trademark flooring, diner-style kitchen, retro accents and references to the company’s British roots will remain part of the office design.
