PLANO, Texas – Trammell Crow Company has purchased the 16-acre SMU campus in Plano for future development.

Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) represented Southern Methodist University in the sale of the SMU-in-Plano campus, which consists of four buildings on a 16-acre site at 5228–5236 Tennyson Parkway in Plano.

SMU-in-Plano is a satellite campus of Southern Methodist University, a nationally ranked private university. The campus is home to Guildhall, SMU’s graduate-level video game development program, as well as the Center for Family Counseling and the Center for Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management.

“This sale provided SMU the opportunity and ability to redeploy capital to its main campus and create cohesiveness between all programs,” said NKF Executive Managing Director Rebecca Griffin. Griffin, along with NKF Executive Managing Director Lispah Hogan and Director Sara Fredericks, represented SMU in the transaction.

Situated in Legacy Business Park, the SMU-in-Plano site lies within one of the fastest-growing employment centers in the nation. The area has recently attracted major corporate headquarters, including Toyota, Liberty Mutual Insurance and JPMorgan, among others.
