HOUSTON — The Museum Medical Tower, located near Hermann Park, is receiving a comprehensive $10 million renovation aimed at modernizing the building and enhancing the experience for patients, visitors and tenants.

The 177,476-square-foot medical office tower sits on the north side of the Texas Medical Center at 1213 Hermann Drive, adjacent to Park Plaza Hospital and within the Museum District. Its prime location makes it a key healthcare and ambulatory services hub in the area.

Owner HCP Inc. retained Cassetty Architecture of Hendersonville, Tennessee, to develop the renovation plans. HCP is a major local landlord, owning more than 2.5 million square feet of medical office space in the Houston region.

Scott & Reid General Contractors of Dallas will serve as the general contractor for the project. Leasing services for the property are being handled by Transwestern’s Healthcare Advisory Services team, with vice presidents Ashley Cassel and Justin Brasell representing HCP in tenant and market activities.

The exterior renovation scope includes a new French-inspired façade and redesigned main entrance to create a more welcoming arrival. A live green wall will be added as a prominent feature, complemented by updated landscaping and refreshed sidewalks. The parking garage will also receive targeted upgrades to improve circulation and aesthetics.

Interior improvements will focus on delivering a modern, comfortable environment. The building lobby will be completely re-finished with contemporary materials and lighting, while corridors, elevator lobbies and restrooms will be upgraded to meet current standards for healthcare facilities and tenant expectations.

These renovations are intended to position the Museum Medical Tower as a more desirable and competitive medical office destination within the Texas Medical Center area, supporting both patient-facing services and specialty practices that serve the surrounding medical community.
