HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Sekai Hospitality, a newly formed Houston-based company, plans to open its first two nightclubs in Houston this fall.
WYLD CHLD
The first venue will occupy the former Benjy’s restaurant space at 5922 Washington Avenue. Described as an “elevated boutique nightclub,” the club will be named WYLD CHLD. Brooklyn-based designer Marc Dizon, whose international portfolio includes collaborations in Rome with architect Richard Meier, Hakkasan Las Vegas, and The Druid Garden in Bangalore, will bring his refined aesthetic to approximately 7,500 square feet of interior space. The layout includes a main floor with a stage, plus a 1,300-square-foot patio and a 1,000-square-foot rooftop terrace. The Washington Avenue corridor continues to grow as a popular destination for restaurants and nightlife.
SEKAI DAY AND NIGHT
The second club will be located in the EaDo neighborhood near the east side of downtown Houston. A former warehouse at 1505 Saint Emanuel Street is being transformed into SEKAI DAY AND NIGHT. The Houston office of Cairo-based Studio Five, an award-winning design firm, is managing the project. Spanning roughly 26,000 square feet, the venue will feature a 36-foot main bar, 27 VIP tables, stadium-style seating, and an outdoor resort-style pool area totaling about 1,000 square feet, with 16 cabanas, 17 VIP couches, and 10 day beds.
SEKAI Hospitality describes SEKAI DAY AND NIGHT as a “mega club” designed to deliver an immersive, festival-like atmosphere of sights and sounds, offering one of the largest indoor/outdoor entertainment spaces of its kind in the city.
A Worldly City
“Houston has gained international recognition for its dining, cultural institutions, and parks, and we want to create that same excitement and destination appeal for daylife and nightlife,” said SEKAI Hospitality Co-Managing Partner Sal Wise. “Houston is an incredibly sophisticated and worldly city, and engaging architects and designers who bring a global, forward-thinking aesthetic to our venues is central to SEKAI Hospitality’s mission.”
