PEARLAND – HCA Houston Healthcare has broken ground on the HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement, a new, state-of-the-art training center designed to advance clinical education for its workforce.

NAI Partners representatives Griff Bandy, Partner, and Joe Bright, Senior Associate, negotiated the transaction for the 48,400-square-foot ground-up build-to-suit project. The new facility is being developed at Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway Street, just west of Texas 288.

The project is scheduled to open in early 2021. HCA signed a long-term lease for this custom-built training center to meet the organization’s specific operational and educational needs.

The center will feature high-fidelity hospital simulation labs, connected classrooms and debriefing rooms. These spaces will support ongoing clinical education and skills training for the health system’s nearly 7,000 nurses.

“We’re extremely pleased to have been able to find the perfect solution for HCA in the heart of Pearland Town Center, and honored to play a role in bringing a healthcare training and meeting facility of this magnitude to fruition,” said Griff Bandy.

“This was a complex deal given our client’s specific requirements,” added Joe Bright.

HCA Houston Healthcare leaders will gather for an official groundbreaking ceremony on the site of the HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement on Wednesday, February 26, marking the start of construction.

“The HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement is a significant part of our strategic nursing plan to support and grow our nurses as the differentiator at our hospitals and other facilities,” said Kelli Nations, chief nurse executive at HCA Houston Healthcare. “It will help raise the bar for nursing care in Houston.”

A second HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement is planned for a location north of Houston, expanding the system’s investment in clinical training infrastructure.
