Skanska’s Energy Corridor Project Bounces Back After Hurricane, Adds New Tenant
HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Skanska’s West Memorial Place office campus, which was damaged during Hurricane Harvey, has secured a new tenant: Crossmark Global Investments.
Represented by Kevin Saxe of CBRE, Crossmark leased 16,000 square feet. Skanska was represented by Russell Hodges and Bubba Hawkins of JLL in the transaction.
West Memorial Place sits in the Energy Corridor along Memorial Drive, just south of Interstate 10 and west of Eldridge, and lies south of the Addicks Reservoir.
Skanska’s 331,000-square-foot West Memorial Place I is currently 71 percent leased, while the 385,000-square-foot West Memorial Place II stands at 45 percent leased.
The Energy Corridor submarket was affected by Hurricane Harvey, but Skanska announced in November that both buildings at West Memorial Place had been repaired and were fully operational — making them among the first office properties in the area to return to full functionality after the storm.
Skanska’s other projects in the Houston area include the Capitol Tower development, a 35-story downtown office tower with roughly 750,000 square feet and Bank of America as a major tenant. Skanska is also developing Spring Crossing, a three-phase project expected to deliver about 850,000 square feet of office space near The Woodlands.
