HOUSTON – MetroNational has broken ground on a nine-story, 190,000-square-foot speculative office tower in Memorial City, a 265-acre mixed-use development in West Houston that is approaching full build-out.

“This new office tower will mark the completion of a 2.7-million-square-foot campus in Memorial City,” said Jason Johnson, President of MetroNational. “Over the past decade, MetroNational has created a mixed-use environment that includes six Class A office buildings totaling 1.7 million square feet, the new Hotel ZaZa Memorial City, and three luxury apartment high-rises. This project is the culmination of our long-term vision to build a city-within-a-city in West Houston and sets the stage for continued growth.”

The office tower, located at 9753 Katy Freeway on the southwest corner of Bunker Hill and the Katy Freeway, was designed by Kirksey Architects.

The building is part of a four-acre mixed-use parcel that also includes The McKinley, a 25-story residential tower that will be the tallest multi-family building west of Uptown Houston. The McKinley is a 332,231-square-foot, all-rental apartment building that broke ground at 9757 Katy Freeway in July 2019 and was designed by Ziegler Cooper.

MetroNational is a privately held real estate investment, development, and management company based in Houston. Founded in 1954, the company owns and manages more than 9.6 million square feet of commercial real estate across Greater Houston.
