HOUSTON – Hasta Capital Acquires WaterWall Place, Prime Uptown Multifamily Asset
Hasta Capital has purchased WaterWall Place, a seven-story, 316,000-square-foot, 322-unit rental residential property located in Uptown Houston. The building sits on a three-acre site at the northeast corner of Hidalgo Street and McCue Road, directly adjacent to the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park and beside the iconic 64-story Williams Tower.
Developed by Hines and completed in 2014, WaterWall Place was the first in a series of multifamily projects the firm delivered in Houston. The community was designed by Wallace Garcia Wilson, with Jackson Ryan serving as design architect, and showcases upscale finishes and thoughtful urban placement within the Galleria mixed-use district.
WaterWall Place benefits from its location in one of Houston’s most sought-after submarkets, providing residents easy access to retail, dining, and major employment centers within the Galleria area. The building’s proximity to the Waterwall Park and the Williams Tower adds notable amenity and prestige to the address.
Hasta Capital, which operates investment and development activities in both the United States and Mexico, expands its multifamily portfolio with this strategic acquisition in a high-barrier-to-entry market. The purchase underscores continued investor interest in well-located, professionally managed rental assets that offer stable cash flow and long-term appreciation potential.
Completed in 2014, WaterWall Place features a mix of unit types designed to appeal to a broad renter demographic, complemented by on-site amenities and parking that cater to urban professionals and families. The development’s design and placement reflect Hines’ emphasis on delivering high-quality residential options near major mixed-use centers.
This transaction highlights the ongoing demand for core-plus multifamily properties in major Texas markets, where proximity to employment, retail, and established cultural landmarks drives tenant demand and supports occupancy and rent growth.
