HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – GenCap Partners, a Dallas-based multifamily real estate firm, has purchased 17 acres on West Lake Houston Parkway in Humble with plans to build a 350-unit apartment community.
Named The Sarah at Lake Houston, the project will sit at 17810 West Lake Houston Parkway on Houston’s northeast side. The property is adjacent to Humble Independent School District’s Atascocita High School, just north of Generation Park, and surrounded by recently developed upscale residential neighborhoods.
“With the growing population in the Humble area and the excellent local amenities, this is an ideal location for our newest upscale apartment community,” said Todd Thomas, Senior Vice President of GenCap. “These residences will be affordably priced and attractive to a mix of families and young professionals.”
Construction began last month and The Sarah at Lake Houston is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2020. The development will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, including several townhome-style units, with sizes ranging from 560 to 1,616 square feet.
Apartment finishes will include nine-foot ceilings, wood-style flooring, and quartz countertops with tile backsplashes.
On-site community amenities will feature a pet spa and dog park, an outdoor sundeck with a resort-style pool, a lap pool with poolside cabanas, and a Biergarten with a central gathering courtyard.
“We appreciate the Houston market and its strong job-growth narrative,” Thomas added. “GenCap has significant investments here and we anticipate developing additional multifamily projects in the coming years.”
JLL’s Chris Bergmann Jr. represented GenCap in the acquisition, while Anne Vickery & Associates represented the seller.
