DALLAS – (Realty News Report) – Ben Caballero, a current Guinness World Record title holder and the top-ranked real estate agent in the U.S. since 2013 according to RealTrends, set a new record for home sales in 2020. He individually sold 6,438 homes with a combined value exceeding $2.46 billion.
Caballero surpassed his own previous Guinness World Record for “most annual home sales transactions through MLS by an individual sell-side real estate agent,” which stood at 5,801 and was achieved by him in Dallas, Texas, in 2018.

Working as a new-home sales specialist with more than 60 homebuilders across Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio, Caballero first earned Guinness recognition in 2016 after selling 3,556 homes—the first record of its kind for an individual real estate agent.
The verified sales numbers were provided by the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, the Houston Association of Realtors, the San Antonio Board of Realtors, and the Austin Board of Realtors multiple listing services.
Texas has led the nation in new home construction in recent years, with Dallas and Houston ranking first and second nationally in housing starts. Austin continues to be one of the fastest-growing homebuilding markets the country has seen in years.
“As a Texan, I am proud to live and work in the world’s greatest and most resilient housing market, home to one of the strongest regional economies,” Caballero said. “Looking at the market today, this record is going to stand for some time. What’s most incredible is that I get to do something I love every day and get paid for it. I built homes for 18 years and truly enjoy working with builders.”
In 2020 he averaged more than 120 new-home sales per week—about 17 homes per day—or at a pace of more than two home sales every business hour. Caballero credits the high volume to technology driving the HomesUSA.com platform, which he developed to manage and market builder listings across local multiple listing services.
National forecasts, including those from the Urban Land Institute, indicate housing starts exceeded the 20-year average in 2020 for the first time since the Great Financial Crisis. Projections expect starts to rise to roughly 1.1 million in 2021, 1.2 million in 2022, and to remain near that level into 2023.
