BELLAIRE, Texas — United Equities, a Houston-based real estate firm, has purchased the former Earthman Funeral Home building in Bellaire along with an adjacent retail center. The 10,500-square-foot funeral home, located at 6700 Ferris just north of Bissonnet Street, is currently undergoing redevelopment.
Doug Freedman of United Equities confirmed that two tenants have already signed leases for space in the renovated Earthman building: Define, a fitness and yoga studio, and an independent restaurant called “401.” The restaurant’s name references Bellaire’s ZIP code, 77401, an area known for its high average household income—reported at $227,530.
United Equities, founded in 1971, manages a diversified portfolio of retail, industrial, and office properties totaling roughly three million square feet across the Houston, Dallas, and Austin markets. The firm has frequently represented the Fiesta grocery chain in various transactions.
The Earthman property sits approximately two blocks from a nearby H-E-B–anchored retail center that is slated for demolition and replacement with a larger, two-story H-E-B store. The redevelopment of the Earthman site is part of a broader wave of investment and renovation in this Bellaire retail corridor.
