Downtown: Lionstone Investments Moves HQ to Historic Building

712 Main Street in Houston

In Houston, Houston-based Lionstone Investments relocated its headquarters to the historic 712 Main Street building, an asset it owns in a joint venture.

“Lionstone chose 712 Main because of both its prime location and its historical significance,” said Lionstone President Jane Page. “We’ve been involved in the revitalization of the 1929-vintage building since we purchased it in late 2013 and are proud to now occupy a technologically state-of-the-art office tucked into an architecturally authentic Art Deco envelope.”

Ziegler Cooper was hired for interior design while Arch-Con Corp. completed the build-out of the 22,145-SF space.

Lionstone is an independent subsidiary of Columbia Threadneedle Investments, which purchased it in November 2017. Inspired by a visit to Columbia Threadneedle’s London offices, the Firm chose to incorporate a 100% open plan concept to foster collaboration and increase access to leadership.

Lionstone’s Den

Approximately one-quarter of the 25th floor is dedicated to an area known as the “Den,” a multi-purpose room that can accommodate the entire firm for monthly meetings and special events. It is outfitted with kitchen amenities, ample seating, and a stage with lighting, large-scale video screens and first-class technology.

“The Den allows everyone in the Firm to present ideas and material at the highest level,” adds John Schaefer, the project’s manager and Lionstone’s head of land and development. “In a firm that embraces curiosity and sharing of wisdom, this is a very important feature.”
