HOUSTON — A self-storage operator has purchased a 6.2-acre parcel along Loop 610 North near the Houston Heights, the Avison Young commercial real estate firm reports.
The property previously served as the printing plant for the Greensheet, a classified-ads “shopper” publication that operated in the market since 1970.
The site includes approximately 40,000 square feet of industrial space at 1690 North Loop West, located just a few miles north of downtown Houston.
Avison Young principals Todd Mason and Jeff Lindenberger, together with Richard Mason and senior associate Taylor Wilson from the firm’s Houston office, represented the seller, Helen Gordon Interests, Ltd., the company founded by the Greensheet’s founder.
“This area is undergoing rapid redevelopment, and it is encouraging to witness the continued revitalization of the Houston Heights community,” said Richard Mason of Avison Young. “Properties here carry a deep local history. This building served as the Greensheet’s printing complex for two decades and sits adjacent to the nearly 80-year-old Houston Farmers Market. The renovations taking place now will benefit the neighborhood for generations.”
The buyer is GSD North Loop 610, LLC, an affiliate of Greenspace Holdings.
Greenspace Holdings intends to develop a self-storage facility on part of the property, converting the existing industrial parcel to serve growing demand for storage and support the neighborhood’s evolving land uses.
