CEO at JLL: Mark Gibson Named Country

Mark Gibson Named Country CEO at JLL

In Dallas, JLL reported that Mark Gibson, currently JLL’s CEO of Capital Markets Americas, has been appointed to the newly created role of Country CEO, United States.

“In today’s complex operating environment, companies are looking to fewer, more strategic partners to advise them across their entire real estate portfolio,” said Christian Ulbrich, President and CEO, JLL. “The Country CEO, U.S. will be central to delivering the expertise and scale our clients require. Mark is a highly accomplished leader with a strong track record of building lasting relationships with clients; he is uniquely positioned to bring the full breadth of JLL to every one of them.”

Gibson has been CEO of Capital Markets Americas for seven years and will remain in that role through the end of 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

Gibson, a graduate of the University of Texas, joined Holliday Fenoglio & Company in 1984, when it was a new Houston mortgage banking start-up led by Hal Holliday and John Fenoglio. The company grew to become HFF, one of the largest mortgage banking companies in the nation. In 2014, Gibson was named CEO of HFF. JLL purchased HFF in 2019 for $2 billion.

Kevin MacKenzie, currently President of Capital Markets Americas, will assume the role of CEO Capital Markets, Americas effective January 1, 2027.

In Houston, JLL Capital Markets has handled a significant number of office building sales in the last two years.

And JLL Capital Markets, in a sales effort led by Jeff Hollinden and Kevin McConn, have been retained to market Pennzoil Place, which contains a total of 1.4 million SF. Pennzoil Place, developed by Hines, was named the “Building of the Decade” in 1975 by famed New York Times architecture critic Ada Louise Huxtable.
