Trendmaker Homes Expands Into Dallas with Purchase of Two Builders

In Dallas, The Trendmaker Homes brand, a familiar name in Houston housing, is expanding into the Dallas-Fort Worth market with the $60 million purchase of two Dallas builders by Trendmaker’s parent company, Tri Pointe Group.

Tri Pointe Group, one of the top ten largest public homebuilders in the United States, reported that it is expanding its Texas footprint with the purchase of Dallas-based homebuilder Dunhill Homes and its 55+ brand Nathan Carlisle Homes, both Winchester Carlisle Companies, for a cash purchase price of $60 million.

With more than 300 homes expected to be delivered for the full year 2018 and nearly 1,500 lots owned or controlled, in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, the purchase of Dunhill Homes provides TRI Pointe with a strong and instant presence in the No. 1 homebuilding market nationally with both entry-level, first move-up and 55+ communities.

Effective January 1, 2019, Dunhill Homes and Nathan Carlisle will begin operating under the name of Trendmaker Homes, which is TRI Pointe’s established regional homebuilding brand in Houston and Austin.

“When researching entry into the Dallas-Fort Worth market, our goal was to identify a customer-driven, best-in-class local company with a strong leadership team with the same kind of values, mission and vision that defines TRI Pointe,” said TRI Pointe Group CEO Doug Bauer.

TRI Pointe Group’s strategic expansion capitalizes on the Dallas and Fort Worth housing markets, which ranked in the top five nationally for population growth in 2017. As of September 2018, total employment in Dallas had increased nearly a full percentage point year over year to 3.5 percent, and Fort Worth’s employment growth has also been strong, increasing 2.8 percent.

Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., TRI Pointe Group is one of the top 10 largest public homebuilding companies by equity market capitalization in the United States.
