HOUSTON — GID Development Group has announced it is moving forward with Phase 2 of Regent Square, a mixed-use project located at West Dallas and Dunlavy Streets, just south of Buffalo Bayou Park.
Phase 2 will span eight acres and deliver approximately 600 multifamily residences along with about 50,000 square feet of street-level retail space, which will be leased by JLL Retail Advisory Services.
OJB Landscape Architecture is designing a prominent central plaza and activated green spaces to serve as community gathering areas. Phase 1 of Regent Square included the Sovereign at Regent Square, a 21-story residential tower completed in 2015.
Designed by CBT, a Boston-based architecture firm recognized for its placemaking expertise, Phase 2 is envisioned as a thoughtfully scaled, site-specific composition that encourages residents and visitors to engage with the curated, programmed urban environment.
“Our objective for Regent Square is to create an exemplary urban mixed-use district in the heart of Houston. Phase 2, the core of the master plan, is positioned to establish the project as a lively, walkable destination that integrates high-quality restaurants, retail and residential uses into the fabric of the surrounding neighborhoods,” said James Linsley, President of GID Development Group.
The full Regent Square district encompasses 24 acres along West Dallas Street in the northern Montrose area, west of Waugh Drive. Much of the site was formerly occupied by the Allen House apartment complex.
