David Myers — Celebrated Journalist Dies at 74

David W. Myers, a seasoned journalist who spent decades covering real estate, has died. Early in his career he reported on real estate for the Los Angeles Times, where he contributed to team coverage that earned Pulitzer Prizes for reporting on the 1992 civil unrest and the 1994 major earthquake.

For several years Myers wrote the nationally syndicated column “About Real Estate” for King Features Syndicate, which appeared in more than 100 newspapers. Based in Southern California, he also served as a real estate reporter for Inman News, providing informed coverage of housing markets and industry trends.

Myers was a long-standing member of NAREE (the National Association of Real Estate Editors) and won more than a dozen awards in NAREE’s Real Estate Journalism Competition, recognizing his excellence in reporting and analysis.

He authored the book If You’re Clueless About Buying a Home and contributed articles to prominent outlets including The Wall Street Journal and Money magazine, among numerous other publications.
