HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Fat Boots Trailer Park Bar, a “drinkertainment” concept preparing for national expansion, is opening on Houston’s Washington Avenue.

Located at 4218 Washington Avenue, Fat Boots Trailer Park Bar will open May 5.

Developed by Las Vegas entertainment veterans Jennifer Worthington, Robert Frey and Ned Collett, the concept “playfully brings to life vintage trailer park culture” in an immersive indoor/outdoor environment. The venue blends performance, themed décor and interactive elements to create a lively, participatory nightlife destination.

Fat Boots Trailer Park Bar is located at 4218 Washington Avenue and offers approximately 2,000 square feet of indoor space plus an 800-square-foot patio. Transworld Business Advisors’ Steve Merritt represented the tenant while Eva Hughes represented the landlord. Additional Fat Boots locations are currently in development for New Orleans and Nashville.

Cocktails in Spam Cans

Staff performers will both entertain and invite guests to join in — with call-outs, dancing on stage and bar areas to playlists of 1980s, 1990s and 2000s hits, drinking games and other audience-driven moments. The beverage program features creative signature cocktails, some presented in repurposed Spam and SpaghettiOs cans, alongside a broad selection of beers and Jell-O shots. The venue’s food offerings lean into the theme with nostalgic snack items like Twinkies, Cheez Whiz and crackers.

“We love the carefree attitude and diversity of Houston, which reinforces our decision to launch the Fat Boots brand here,” said partner Robert Frey, who co-founded PURE Nightclub and created venues such as the Pussy Cat Dolls Lounge at Caesars Palace and Social House at Treasure Island. “This Inner Loop site sits between The Beer Can House and the Art Car Museum — two landmarks that capture the city’s creative, fun-loving spirit.”

“The Evolution of Bars”

Partner Jennifer Worthington, who moved from film executive roles into hospitality and has helped create notable nightlife destinations, said Fat Boots reflects a larger shift in bar culture toward immersive experiences. “Bars are evolving into spaces where staff act as entertainers and social catalysts, and guests become part of the theatrical experience,” she said.

Live-Event Experience and Design

Houston-based partner Ned Collett contributes decades of live-event experience, having produced large-scale music events. The team enlisted Houston artist Caitlin Caselli and set designer Abigail Kehr — who regularly works with the Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet and Houston Symphony — to realize the vintage trailer park aesthetic. Their work includes interactive vignettes, themed games and selfie-ready scenes. Kehr has designed a series of interior “yards” for groups, decorated with classic signage and props. The outdoor Astroturf patio features colorful Adirondack chairs arranged around kiddie pools equipped with toy fishing gear, offering playful places to gather while waiting for friends.

The bar, situated on Washington Avenue between Heights Boulevard and Shepherd Drive, is slated to open May 5.
