HOUSTON — FlightAware, a global aircraft flight-tracking company, has signed a lease for 24,500 square feet at Eleven Greenway Plaza, located inside Houston’s Inner Loop, to serve as its global headquarters.
Neil Tofsky, chief executive of Senterra Real Estate Group, and Kevin Tofsky, vice president, represented FlightAware in the transaction. J.P. Hutcheson of Parkway Inc. represented Parkway, the owner of Greenway Plaza.
Currently occupying 12,000 square feet in Eight Greenway, FlightAware will move into the 29th floor of Eleven Greenway. The new space will consolidate and expand the company’s Houston presence to support its global operations.
Greenway Plaza is a large mixed-use development near the Southwest Freeway and Buffalo Speedway. The complex includes 10 office buildings and approximately 4.2 million square feet of office space, offering tenants a central location and extensive on-site amenities.
Originally developed in the 1970s and 1980s by Century Development, Greenway Plaza has long been a major Houston business address. Neil Tofsky previously served as an executive with Century Development and, over the course of his career, has been involved in leasing more than 3 million square feet across Greenway Plaza and other projects — including securing Coastal Corp.’s 650,000-square-foot lease at Greenway Plaza several years ago.
The Greenway Plaza portfolio is in the process of being acquired by Canadian institutional investors as part of a larger $1.2 billion transaction to purchase Parkway Inc. That deal is expected to close later this year and would transfer ownership of the office buildings to the new investors.
Senterra Real Estate Group is overseeing construction management for the FlightAware build-out. Endurance Builders is serving as the general contractor for the tenant finish, and the interior design was produced by Gensler.
