BJ’s Wholesale Expands to East Texas

In Mesquite, Texas, BJ’s Wholesale Club will soon open its fifth Texas store since entering the Lone Star state in April.

The new Mesquite club is set to open on November 6 at 4355 Childress Ave. near Interstate 30 and North Galloway Avenue.

BJ’s Wholesale, a leading operator of membership warehouse clubs in the eastern half of the United States, has been expanding in Texas where competitors Costco and Sam’s Club have a firm foothold.

New stores have also opened recently in Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and Tennessee. The chain plans to open 25 to 30 stores each year in fiscal 2027 and 2028, as stated by financial reports.

The Texas stores are concentrated in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with locations in Forney, Waxahachie, Southwest Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, and Mesquite. Next up, an East Texas store is coming to Tyler.

BJ’s Wholesale aims to be one-stop shop for value-priced everyday essentials, including fresh foods, produce, full-service deli items, fresh bakery goods, household essentials, home décor, pet supplies, toys, consumer electronics, and more. Customers can use manufacturers coupons to save more.

“We’re pleased to expand our presence by bringing savings of up to 25% off grocery store prices every day to even more families in Texas,” said Doug Noelle, Club Manager, Mesquite BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We’re thrilled to be part of the Mesquite community and look forward to taking care of the families who depend on us.”

In Mesquite, BJ’s will support North Texas Food Bank with regular donations of produce, meat, dairy products, and more.

“We’re grateful for our ongoing partnership with BJ’s Wholesale Club,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of North Texas Food Bank. “Thanks to their growing support, we’re able to provide even more access to nutritious food for our neighbors across North Texas.”
