HOUSTON — Stewart Title has signed a lease for 156,000 square feet of office space in the Four Oaks Place complex, establishing a new near-headquarters location in Uptown Houston.
The company will sublease the space from BHP Billiton at 1360 Post Oak Boulevard. The relocation is scheduled to take place in mid-2019.
“Stewart’s associates drive the company’s growth and it’s important they have the best accommodations available,” said Steve Lindstrom, vice president of property and lease management at Stewart. “The new location will bring together enhanced technology, modern furnishings and additional conference space to better support Stewart associates as they serve customers.”
Stewart Title, a Houston-based firm, has occupied space in the Post Oak Central office park for several years. Post Oak Central recently changed hands after the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board acquired Parkway Inc., the owner of roughly 8.7 million square feet of Houston office properties.
The leased headquarters space at Four Oaks Place will span eight floors and include a range of amenities. Additional details about those amenities will be announced in the coming months.
This transaction also reduces the amount of sublease inventory on the Houston market. Sublease availability climbed above 12 million square feet during the office market downturn that began in 2014; with this deal, sublease supply in the market has fallen to below 10 million square feet.
