Voodoo Doughnut Opens in Houston, Bringing Wild New Donuts
The basic glazed doughnut may be outclassed by the wildly creative doughnuts generated by the Voodoo organization. In a news release, the firm described the company co-founders as “kooky.”
HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – World-famous Voodoo Doughnut, celebrated for inventive flavors and a distinctive culture, is expanding into Houston.
The Washington Avenue location will operate 24/7 and will be Voodoo’s first drive-thru. The shop is scheduled to open this summer.
This move extends Voodoo’s presence in Texas and marks its first location in the vibrant city of Houston. Known for bold, imaginative doughnuts and a playful brand, Voodoo will bring its creative offerings to the Bayou City on Washington Avenue in late summer.
“We are ecstatic to continue our expansion in Texas, adding to our existing location in Austin,” says Voodoo Doughnut co-founder Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson. “We look forward to contributing to the Houston community and are eager to find amazing people who thrive in a fun, high-energy environment to join the team. Get ready to see our iconic pink boxes in the coming year!”
Voodoo Doughnut began as the collaboration of longtime friends Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon. In 2003 they launched a venture that blended warm hospitality with their bold, do-it-yourself showmanship and, of course, inventive doughnuts. Creators of signature items like the Bacon Maple Bar, Portland Cream, and Memphis Mafia, Voodoo has built a devoted following worldwide. With their unconventional creations and playful founders, the company transformed the traditional doughnut shop into an elevated, theatrical experience, the company said in a statement.
Cat Daddy and Tres grew their “little doughnut shop that could” into a lively destination both in front of and behind the counter, expanding to locations across Oregon, Colorado, Texas, California, and Florida.
