Tampa Developer Acquires Seventh Multifamily Property in Houston
American Landmark purchased the Haven at Lakes of 610, near the Astrodome, the historic stadium once promoted as “The Eighth Wonder of the World.”
HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – American Landmark, one of the fastest-growing multifamily firms in the nation, has acquired an apartment community near the Astrodome. This marks the company’s seventh acquisition in the Houston market.
The buyer acquired the 282-unit Haven at Lakes of 610 from a joint venture between Guefen Development and The Rainier Companies.
American Landmark will rebrand the community as “Aspire at 610” and plans to invest $1.45 million in property upgrades. The complex, completed in 2018, sits roughly two miles from the Texas Medical Center, which employs more than 100,000 people.
“Houston led the nation in job growth in 2018 and is positioned to do the same this year, so we are very confident in the long-term demand for workforce housing in the region, which has seen its economy diversify significantly,” said Christine DeFilippis, Chief Investment Officer of American Landmark. “With its excellent location and strong amenity set, Aspire at 610 aligns well with our investment strategy.”
Planned unit upgrades include faux-wood plank flooring, integrated USB outlets, and smart locks in every apartment. Amenity enhancements will add a dog-washing station, fire pits, a package locker system, an updated clubhouse, and landscaping improvements.
Aspire at 610 is a four-story community located at 8900 Lakes at 610 Drive. One- and two-bedroom floor plans feature in-unit washer/dryer connections, granite countertops, black kitchen appliances, plank flooring on first-floor units, and kitchen islands. Community amenities include a clubhouse, a large pool with a sundeck, and a business center.
The Aspire at 610 property is situated just south of Loop 610.
