Common Desk Opens Third Houston Coworking Location, Leases 24,000 SF in West Houston

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Common Desk, a Dallas-based coworking company serving businesses and professionals, has signed a 24,140-square-foot lease at 2500 CityWest in Houston’s Westchase District.

Common Desk will occupy portions of the first and second floors of the 25-story, Class A office tower. The building totals approximately 578,284 square feet, and this new location marks Common Desk’s third facility in the Houston area.

In Houston, Common Desk already operates coworking locations in the East End at 2339 Commerce Street and in the Uptown/Galleria area at 3040 Post Oak. The company also maintains multiple locations across Dallas and Austin, expanding its footprint across Texas.

Growth Amid the Pandemic

“At a time when many companies have downsized or closed due to the pandemic, it is encouraging to see a young, innovative firm expand its platform,” said Dennis Tarro, Executive Managing Director of Patrinely Group. “We are delighted Common Desk selected 2500 CityWest as its next location and look forward to the vitality it will bring to the property.”

Win Haggard Jr. and Vince Strake of Cushman & Wakefield represented the property ownership in the lease negotiations, working alongside Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group.

Patrinely Group acquired 2500 CityWest in 2011 in a joint venture with USAA Real Estate. In 2014, Patrinely announced plans for a 266-unit multifamily development on an adjacent parcel acquired with the office building. Over time, Patrinely and USAA have completed multiple capital improvement projects and physical enhancements to 2500 CityWest to modernize and improve the property for tenants.

Building Design and Management

Patrinely Group provides property management at 2500 CityWest. The building is characterized by a stepped curtain wall of reflective jet-black aluminum and glass, a sleek exterior design that contributes to its Class A positioning in the Westchase market.

Common Desk recently relocated its corporate headquarters from Deep Ellum in Dallas to Downtown Dallas, taking space in the historic Factory Six03 building on Market Street in the West End District.

Common Desk’s coworking environments typically host a mix of freelancers, small businesses, rapidly growing tech firms, and larger enterprise teams. Beyond workspace, the company’s workday brand portfolio includes specialty coffee, technology enhancements, and cocktail concepts, providing members and guests with customized amenities designed to enhance productivity and the overall workday experience.
