HOUSTON — CommonGrounds Workplace, a San Diego–based coworking company, has opened a 27,747-square-foot location in Three Greenway Plaza, situated inside Houston’s Inner Loop.

Greenway Plaza, owned and managed by Parkway Property Investors, is one of Houston’s largest employment centers with more than 4.9 million square feet of office space across 11 buildings on a 52-acre campus near the Southwest Freeway, Buffalo Speedway and Richmond Avenue.

“Greenway Plaza combines major corporations and fast-growing startups across the Houston market,” said Jacob Bates, CEO of CommonGrounds. “Our premium, flexible workplace is designed to foster collaboration between established firms and companies seeking proximity to them.”

CommonGrounds’ in-house creative team collaborated with Ziegler Cooper Architects, the architect of record in Houston, on the workplace design. The general contractor was Arch-Con Corp., a Houston-based firm led by Michael Scheurich.

Bobby Spoden is the CommonGrounds workplace manager. Marketing for the space is handled by Sam Pouns and Molly Perrotta with Fritsche Anderson Realty Partners.

Parkway Property Investors oversees Greenway Plaza. Three Greenway Plaza is a 21-story, 519,000-square-foot building developed by Century Development. The building’s leasing team is led by Eric Siegrist and J.P. Hutcheson.

The new CommonGrounds workplace, located on the concourse level of Three Greenway Plaza, can accommodate up to 458 members. The space is organized into a mix of private offices and team rooms, dedicated collaboration areas and informal conversation zones. Amenities include six video-enabled conference rooms, wellness rooms and numerous phone booths to support focused work.

CommonGrounds also operates a location in Fort Worth and maintains additional facilities across the country.
