Taylor Morrison Purchases 107 Acres for New Community Development

Home built by Taylor Morrison

HOUSTON – Taylor Morrison, a Scottsdale, Arizona–based homebuilder, has purchased 107 acres from the Brazos Bend Trust to expand the Avalon at Riverstone community.

The newly acquired property will be developed into approximately 300 residential lots marketed under the builder’s two brands, Taylor Morrison and Darling Homes.

As part of the transaction, Taylor Morrison will donate 10 acres to the Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department for a neighborhood park to be named in honor of Houston businessman Lloyd Peter Byler. Byler originally conveyed the land to the Brazos Bend Ranch Trust in 1993 for the benefit of his children and descendants. He passed away in 2017 after a career in heavy petroleum products trading.

Amy Rino, president of Taylor Morrison’s Houston homebuilding operations, said the acquisition allows the company to grow its signature Avalon at Riverstone neighborhood while preserving land that was important to Mr. Byler.

Taylor Morrison Home Corporation is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
