VAIL, Colo. – (Realty News Report) – Altus Vail, the first significant new construction in Vail Village in a decade, is nearing completion and set to open in summer 2021.
Unit prices range from $3 million to $10 million.
The region is experiencing a shortage of new housing following a record year that saw $3.5 billion in real estate sales and historically low inventory levels.
Altus Vail is a 15-unit luxury condominium development that introduces much-needed new inventory to both Vail Village and the broader Vail Valley. The project is notable for its intimate design that blends the lifestyle and privacy of a single-family home with the conveniences and amenities of an upscale condominium.
Situated in Vail Village, midway between the Golden Peak base area and Gondola One, Altus Vail provides ski-boot-out and ski-boot-in access. Its location offers the privacy of being slightly removed from the busiest parts of the village while still placing residents within easy walking distance of Golden Peak, Vail Village base areas, and the town’s shops and restaurants.
“Altus Vail residences are designed to feel like a single-family home, including a more private and intimate setting and location, while still providing close access to everything Vail Village offers,” said Stan Kniss, partner and listing broker for Slate Real Estate Advisors.
The Altus team brings together local and Colorado-based developers, designers, and property and sales executives, including Denver and Eagle-based Brue-Baukol Capital Partners, Gore Creek Group LLC, Shaw Construction, 359 Design, Kellye O’Kelly Design, East West Partners Luxury Home Management, and Slate Real Estate Advisors.
The building’s 15 units are composed of nine residences and six penthouses. Each home reflects a warm, mountain-contemporary aesthetic and features semi-private elevators and indoor-outdoor living spaces—amenities that are rare in the Vail Valley.
“People are re-evaluating how and where they live and spend their time and are learning it does not need to be in the traditional ways, or in the traditional locations,” Kniss added. “Buyers are now looking at vacation homes and seeing them as permanent or semi-permanent places to live. The trend is moving away from homes that people spend a few weeks in toward places where they can spend months.”
The six penthouses exceed 3,000 square feet and boast great rooms with 16-foot ceilings, offering expansive living spaces and dramatic mountain views.
Altus Vail is located at 400 East Frontage Road in Vail, Colorado, east of Vail Village and within walking distance of Golden Peak and Gondola One.
