HOUSTON – National law firm Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry has signed a long-term lease extension for office space in Two Allen Center, a Brookfield Property Partners building in downtown Houston.
Under the new agreement, Chamberlain Hrdlicka will continue to occupy 55,178 square feet across the 13th and 14th floors of Two Allen Center through 2028.
Founded in Houston more than 50 years ago, Chamberlain Hrdlicka maintains additional offices in Atlanta, Philadelphia and San Antonio.
Representing Chamberlain Hrdlicka in the transaction were David Guion and Tim Relyea of Cushman & Wakefield. The landlord, Brookfield Property Partners, was represented by John Pruitt, Bubba Harkins and Jessica Ochoa of JLL.
“Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Allen Center,” said John Meredith, Chief Operating Officer for Chamberlain Hrdlicka. “The new Allen Center renovations mirror the updates that Chamberlain Hrdlicka made in our conference centers and office space, as we both prepare for the future.”
Brookfield recently completed Phase One of a $48.5 million redevelopment of Allen Center, a seven-acre office complex totaling 3.2 million square feet near the corner of Smith and Dallas streets. As part of the work, Brookfield removed a skybridge and a berm that had separated office space from Smith Street.
Designed by the Office of James Burnett, the redevelopment introduced a landscaped public green called The Acre between One Allen and Two Allen. In addition, artist Tokujin Yoshioka installed a significant artwork in the lobby of One Allen.
Two Allen Center, located at 1200 Smith St., is a 36-story tower encompassing 996,000 square feet. The building, designed by Lloyd Jones Brewer & Associates, was completed in 1978.
Chamberlain Hrdlicka is also finishing its own $2 million renovation of the leased space, which includes refreshed lobbies on both floors and other interior improvements. The project’s design team was led by Ken Harry of Abel Design Group Ltd.
“Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s renewed commitment to Two Allen Center underscores the strength of Downtown Houston and aligns with Brookfield’s goal to create a vibrant, highly sought-after destination,” said Travis Overall, Executive Vice President and Head of the Texas Region for Brookfield.
