New Hotel Coming to Fort Worth Stockyards: What to Expect
A new hotel with a Tim Love restaurant is under development in Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards District. Architecture is by Niles Bolton Associates. Arch-Con Construction is general contractor.
FORT WORTH – A purpose-built 170-room SpringHill Suites hotel, featuring a restaurant by Texas chef Tim Love, is being developed in Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards District.
The project is led by Oldham Goodwin Group, a development firm based in College Station, in partnership with Arch-Con Construction of Texas as general contractor, Atlanta-based Niles Bolton Associates as architect, and Dallas-based Studio 11 Design handling interiors.
The new hotel will be constructed on the site of the recently demolished Wells Fargo bank building, commonly referred to as “the wedge,” on North Main Street. Designers plan to preserve and reuse several historic elements from the bank, including the original vault door.
“Arch-Con completed the intricate demolition of the bank building a few months ago,” said Mike Barbour, vice president of Arch-Con’s Hospitality Division. “We are excited to advance construction on a hotel that will honor and enhance this historic neighborhood.”
The 133,000-square-foot property will include a rooftop bar and a restaurant run by celebrity chef Tim Love, renowned for his “Urban Western” cuisine. Love is the chef-owner of several well-known Texas restaurants, some located within the Fort Worth Stockyards, including Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse, Queenie’s Steakhouse, Love Shack, and the historic White Elephant Saloon.
In addition to the Stockyards restaurant, Love is developing three dining concepts set to open in Houston at Midway’s Kirby Grove project near Levy Park, close to the Richmond Avenue and Kirby Drive corridor.
