Houston Company Relocates Headquarters to 910 Louisiana Street

One Shell Plaza, 910 Louisiana, was the first skyscraper developed by Gerald D. Hines.

HOUSTON – Ontellus, the nation’s largest privately held data retrieval and claims intelligence provider, is relocating its national headquarters to 910 Louisiana in downtown Houston.

Ontellus, which recorded 20 percent revenue growth over the past year and has significantly expanded its workforce, will occupy more than 32,000 square feet on the 45th and 46th floors of the 50-story tower.

The move from Ontellus’s current offices at 1010 Lamar Street to 910 Louisiana is scheduled for late 2019.

JLL brokers Ronnie Deyo, Beau Bellow and Adam McCauley represented Ontellus in the deal, which is a sublease of office space from Shell Oil Company. Cushman & Wakefield represented Shell in the transaction.

A few years earlier, Shell vacated the 1.3 million-square-foot campus to relocate to a new west Houston site and placed about 800,000 square feet of the building’s office space on the sublease market.

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 50-story tower was the first major skyscraper developed by Gerald D. Hines. When it opened, the building was known as One Shell Plaza and its neighboring tower was Two Shell Plaza.

Completed in 1971, the building underwent an $80 million renovation between 1991 and 1993. A more recent, second major renovation has also been completed.

The property is managed by Hines and leased by Colvill Office Properties.
