ALLEN, Texas — Hines is preparing to announce a major mixed-use development on a 100-acre site in the Allen area of North Texas, according to reporting by Steve Brown of The Dallas Morning News.

The planned project will feature a mix of office space, retail and urban-style residential buildings, the report said. International architecture and design firm Gensler has been retained to design the development.

The site sits at the intersection of State Highway 121 and Alma Road in Allen, a rapidly growing community located between Plano and McKinney in the Dallas metropolitan area.

Headquartered in Houston, Hines is known for large-scale mixed-use projects, including the Houston Galleria — a roughly 3 million-square-foot complex that includes about 300 retail stores and restaurants, two Westin hotels and approximately 1 million square feet of office space.

This announcement continues Hines’ track record of investing in integrated, walkable developments that combine commercial, residential and retail elements to serve growing suburban markets.
