Law Firm Signs Lease in Downtown Tower — Oil & Gas Space

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Liskow & Lewis, a law firm specializing in energy, has leased 30,000 square feet in 1001 Fannin, a 49-story Class A office tower in downtown Houston.

CBRE brokers Kevin Kushner and William Padon represented the tenant in the lease. Cushman & Wakefield’s Chip Colvill, Brad Beasley, and Cameron Colvill represented the landlord, JMB Realty.

As part of the lease extension, the New Orleans–based firm is renovating the Houston space with a focus on technology upgrades and enhanced conference facilities.

Liskow & Lewis Focuses on Energy, Oil & Gas

Founded in 1935 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Liskow & Lewis has long served clients in the energy, oil, and gas sectors. The firm operates four offices across Texas and Louisiana and employs more than 140 lawyers serving clients across the Gulf Coast.

“Updating our office in Houston will help us continue to attract and retain top talent and clients, with a modern, tech-enabled workplace in the heart of Houston’s central business district,” said Michael Golemi, head of the firm’s Houston office. “Houston is a critical market for our firm as we continue shaping legal practice for the energy industry and Gulf Coast business community.”

“This transaction demonstrates Liskow & Lewis’ long-term commitment to the Houston marketplace, where the firm is well-established with many clients,” said Kevin Kushner, Executive Vice President at CBRE and a member of its Law Firm Practice Group. “The renovations the firm plans to make will provide a cutting-edge environment for employees and clients. This is a strong result for the firm, and its future in Houston is bright.”

Completed in 1981, 1001 Fannin occupies a full city block bounded by Fannin, San Jacinto, Lamar, and McKinney streets. In 2020, the building owner completed a multi-million-dollar renovation that enhanced hospitality in the main lobbies with new escalators and artistic lighting, added a coffee bar with open seating, and introduced a modern 8,000-square-foot fitness center and a fully renovated exclusive tenant outdoor patio.

In addition to LEED Gold certification, the property has earned leading recognitions in commercial building management, including BOMA 360 certification and multiple BOMA TOBY awards.
