HOUSTON — (Realty News Report) — Colliers International reports that 26 industrial buildings are currently under construction in Fort Bend County, on the southwest side of the Houston metropolitan area.
In recent years, several large distribution facilities have been developed near Highway 90 and the Sam Houston Parkway (Beltway 8) within Fort Bend County.
Colliers noted that 668,000 square feet of industrial space was delivered in Fort Bend County during the third quarter, while the vacancy rate rose to 6.8 percent.
The largest project currently underway is a 250,000-square-foot facility in the Wayport Business Park in Missouri City.
As Fort Bend’s industrial market gained momentum, one of the most notable developments was Park 8Ninety, a 127-acre project by Trammell Crow and Artis REIT at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Highway 90. Construction on that project began in 2015.
Hines has also developed an industrial park near the intersection of Beltway 8 and the Fort Bend Tollway.
