OKLAHOMA CITY – (Realty News Report) – Hines, the Houston-based international real estate firm, together with partner Humphreys Capital, has broken ground on a new multifamily project at Classen Curve in the Nichols Hills submarket of Oklahoma City.
The development will be a five-story mid-rise building containing 326 rental homes, located immediately adjacent to Whole Foods at the heart of the Classen Curve outdoor retail center. The community will provide walkable access to nearby amenities including Trader Joe’s, more than 15 restaurants such as the recently opened Torchy’s Tacos and Flower Child, and several fitness concepts.
Residence options will include studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, all finished with upscale fixtures and materials intended to establish a new benchmark for quality in the local market. The project’s amenity package is designed to be resort-style and will include multiple private outdoor courtyards, a heated pool, a private fitness center, a club room, a library, an outdoor dog run, modern package facilities, and ample bicycle storage to support residents taking advantage of the adjacent Lake Hefner bike trail.
This development marks Hines’ first residential project in Oklahoma City, following the firm’s prior office developments in the market, including the Devon Energy Center and BOK Park Plaza. Hines Senior Managing Director Tom D’Arcy said, “Hines is privileged to break ground on another development in Oklahoma City. This project will sit on strategic real estate anchored by two upscale grocers, and we are committed to delivering a market-leading community befitting of the site.”
Dwell Design Studio (Dwell) serves as the Architect of Record for the project.
Construction began in August 2020 with initial site work, and the first occupancies are expected to commence in early 2022.
Founded in 1957 by Gerald D. Hines, Hines operates in 225 cities across 25 countries and manages approximately $144.1 billion in assets.
