THE WOODLANDS — Howard Hughes Corp. has begun construction on a new multifamily development, marking the company’s second apartment project announced within the past two months.
The project is an eight-story building with 386 rental units located in Hughes Landing, a mixed-use area within The Woodlands — a 28,000-acre master-planned community about 27 miles north of downtown Houston.
This follows a recent start on another Howard Hughes multifamily community in Bridgeland, an 11,000-acre master-planned development on Houston’s northwest side near the Grand Parkway, which will include 312 units.
The Hughes Landing building is slated for completion in spring 2020. Preston Partnership is serving as architect and Hoar Construction is the project’s construction manager.
About three years earlier, Howard Hughes completed another multifamily complex in Hughes Landing, reinforcing the company’s continued investment in multifamily housing within The Woodlands.
