Jackson Walker Expands Office Space at 5 Houston Center

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Jackson Walker has renewed and expanded its lease at 5 Houston Center, taking a total of 77,015 square feet in the 27-story office tower in downtown Houston.

Transwestern Executive Vice President Eric Anderson and Vice President Tyler Garrett represented the landlord, Spear Street Capital, in the transaction.

5 Houston Center is a 580,000-square-foot building originally developed by Crescent Real Estate and opened approximately 17 years ago. The property is located at 1401 McKinney Street, adjacent to Discovery Green park, in the eastern portion of Houston’s Central Business District.

Jackson Walker renewed a 74,094-square-foot lease and expanded its space by an additional 2,921 square feet, bringing its total to 77,015 square feet. Tim Relyea of Cushman & Wakefield represented Jackson Walker in the lease renewal and expansion.

“Jackson Walker is a long-term, highly valued tenant, and its renewal and expansion is a testament to the new building ownership and upcoming renovations at the project,” said Tyler Garrett of Transwestern. “The building is surrounded by a host of new amenities, and the momentum around the area will only continue.”

5 Houston Center plays a prominent role in the revitalization and growth taking place on the east side of the Central Business District. Its proximity to Discovery Green and nearby street-level restaurants, hotels and multifamily developments has strengthened the building’s appeal to tenants seeking central, amenity-rich office space.

The renewal and expansion underscore continued demand for quality office space in downtown Houston and reflect the owner’s investment in improvements that enhance tenant experience and building competitiveness.
