HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Hines, the global real estate firm headquartered in Houston, announced the promotion of Laura Hines-Pierce to Senior Managing Director, Office of the CEO.

Ms. Hines-Pierce is the granddaughter of Gerald D. Hines, the master developer who founded the company in Houston in 1957.

In her new position, Ms. Hines-Pierce will partner with President and CEO Jeff Hines to shape firmwide strategy, oversee key risk management, and help ensure Hines remains at the forefront as a premier real estate investor, partner and manager worldwide, the company said.

Jeff Hines commented, “The Office of the CEO was established in 2018 to support the successful transition of our family’s third generation and to preserve Hines’ values, culture and global workforce as we pursue our vision. I look forward to working with my eldest daughter to continue advancing the company across all disciplines.”

Ms. Hines-Pierce joined Hines in 2012, initially managing projects and supporting new business in the Midwest and Southeast regions. She was project manager for River Point, a 1.1 million-square-foot, 52-story office tower with a 1.5-acre park in Chicago’s West Loop. Her responsibilities included zoning and entitlements, coordination with equity partner Ivanhoé Cambridge, budget and schedule oversight, design and construction coordination, financial analysis, leasing and marketing.

In 2017 she moved to Houston to work in the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, contributing to firmwide initiatives that refined investment strategy and acquisition efforts. In September 2018 she was appointed Transformation Officer to support strategic and transformational initiatives across the business. Ms. Hines-Pierce also helped found the grassroots OneHines Women’s Network, which contributed to the creation of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion initiative.

Before joining Hines, she worked at Sotheby’s in New York and interned at Eastdil Secured. She holds a BA in Economics and Art History from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Hines operates in 205 cities across 24 countries and currently has 165 developments underway globally. Historically, the firm has developed, redeveloped or acquired 1,393 properties totaling more than 459 million square feet.

Among its projects, Hines is developing the 47-story Texas Tower on the former site of the Houston Chronicle building in downtown Houston.
