Meet the Real Estate Team: Brinsden, Freels, Bryant & More

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Jonathan Brinsden, longtime CEO of Houston-based real estate developer Midway, has left the company to pursue opportunities on the West Coast. Brinsden, who also serves as ULI Americas Chairman for the Urban Land Institute, had been with Midway for 20 years. Midway Chairman Brad Freels has assumed the CEO role in addition to his chairmanship. Midway executive Jamie Bryant has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Midway’s notable Houston developments include the CityCentre mixed-use project near the Katy Freeway and Beltway 8, the GreenStreet development in downtown Houston, and the 150-acre East River project currently under development along the Buffalo Bayou waterfront near downtown.


JLL has expanded its tenant representation capabilities by adding a 19-person tenant representation team that joined from CBRE. The newcomers include Brandon Clarke, Steve Hesse, Sanford Criner, Charles Gordon, Graham Horton, Matt Trozzo, Jeff Cairns, and Paul Penland, among others. This acquisition strengthens JLL’s ability to serve occupiers across the region.


Travis Rodgers has been promoted to partner and chief operating officer at NAI Partners, according to Jon Silberman, managing partner of the Texas-based commercial real estate firm. NAI Partners also announced that Eryn Bays has been named director of training and development, a role that will focus on talent growth and organizational readiness.


Zachary Taylor has joined Colliers as senior vice president of industrial services in Houston. In this position he will work closely with John Nicholson and the Colliers Logistics and Transportation Solutions Group to support industrial clients and expand logistics-focused advisory services in the market.


Correne Loeffler has been named chief financial officer at The Howard Hughes Corporation. She previously served as CFO at Whiting Petroleum, bringing significant financial leadership experience to her new corporate role.


Carl Savato has joined Cushman & Wakefield’s office leasing and tenant representation team in San Antonio, where he will focus on serving occupiers and landlords in the regional office market.


Empire Communities, one of North America’s largest privately held homebuilders, has appointed Terry Shuffler as its new Division President for Central Texas. Shuffler will oversee homebuilding operations and strategic growth across the region.
