Midway Launches In-House Retail Leasing Team to Drive Tenant Growth

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Midway, the Houston-based real estate developer known for notable mixed-use projects, has launched an internal retail leasing department to manage leasing across its property portfolio.

The company has named veteran retail specialist Lacee Jacobs to lead the newly formed Strategic Leasing and Advisory Services team.

Midway’s developments include CityCentre in west Houston and GreenStreet in downtown Houston, and the firm is currently planning the 150-acre East River development at the eastern edge of downtown.

“We know our projects better than anyone else, so we are best equipped to lease them,” said Midway’s Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Brinsden, who was recently appointed ULI Americas Chairman for the Urban Land Institute. “With a true understanding of Midway’s culture, values, and vision for our properties, the new Strategic Leasing and Advisory team is uniquely positioned to support our placemaking goals and enhance investor value.”

Jacobs began her career at Midway and returns as Vice President of Strategic Leasing and Advisory. With nearly a decade of industry experience, she brings expertise in merchandising and advising national and regional retailers, first-to-market concepts, and experiential brands. Most recently she strengthened CBRE’s urban leasing capabilities in Houston by combining local market knowledge with broader industry perspective. Before CBRE, Jacobs held roles with EDGE Realty and Waterman Steele.

“Behind every successful Midway venture is an extraordinary team of talented and dedicated people. Lacee will excel in this position and we are thrilled to welcome her back to head up this specialized leasing group,” said Jamie Bryant, Midway’s Chief Operating Officer.

Midway’s new Strategic Leasing and Advisory group builds on the company’s long track record as an investor, partner, and manager of mixed-use assets. The firm also operates specialized teams for Investment & Capital Markets, Investment & Development, Marketing & Communications, Financial & Team Operations, and Property Operations.

Midway Property Operations manages the company’s office, retail, and multifamily assets and has expanded to oversee third-party properties, including The Alexan at CityCentre, St. Andrie at Buffalo Heights, and Memorial Heights.
