HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Veteran commercial real estate broker H. Dan “Danny” Miller has launched HDM Realty Advisors, a Houston-based firm focused on commercial transactions. Miller previously served as senior managing director of capital markets at JLL and HFF, and over his career has managed the disposition of approximately $4 billion in income-producing properties, representing roughly 33 million square feet. Notable transactions include the $340 million sale of 1400 Smith, the 50-story office tower formerly known as the Enron Building, and the recent all-cash sale of One Sugar Creek Center, a 194,000-square-foot property acquired by Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-owner Kevin Glazer. A graduate of LSU, Miller began his career at CBRE in 1975.

Last year, long-time Houston broker Rudy Hubbard left JLL to found RH Interests.

Land specialists Jeff Peden and Scott E. Miller have joined Transwestern Real Estate Services to strengthen the firm’s land brokerage platform. Peden, who spent 22 years at Cushman & Wakefield, has closed approximately 1,860 transactions valued at about $3.4 billion, including some 960 land sales covering more than 100,000 acres. “Jeff and Scott bring expertise and relationships that complement our current suite of services,” said Kevin Roberts, Transwestern’s Southwest President. “Their addition positions Transwestern to further enhance our offerings and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.”

Meredith Cullen, a land brokerage specialist, has joined Cushman & Wakefield and will work alongside Vice Chairman David L. Cook to lead the firm’s seven-person land brokerage team. “We are excited to add Meredith, a seasoned commercial real estate professional, to our team,” said Tim Relyea, Managing Principal of Cushman & Wakefield’s Houston office. “Meredith is a well-known and respected real estate professional who has played an integral role in numerous development and investment activities across Houston.” Cullen founded Cullen Realty Group in 2013, focusing on marketing, dispositions and acquisitions of land, ranches, commercial buildings, homes and condominiums. He is part of the H.R. Cullen family, which has maintained deep ties to the Houston community for more than a century.

NAI Partners has hired Cary Latham as a Senior Associate in its Texas Investment Sales Division. The firm’s Investment Sales Division has recently made several strategic hires to expand its Texas presence, including bringing on industry veteran Scott Lunine as Executive Vice President of Investment Sales and recruiting the high-performing McCullough-Jaynes team to the Austin office.

Stream Realty Partners announced that Weldon Martin has joined its Houston office as a Senior Vice President within the office division, according to Ryan Barbles, Managing Director of Stream Houston’s office division. Martin previously spent seven years at CBRE, most recently serving as First Vice President, where he handled more than 340 office lease transactions totaling over 2.2 million square feet. Earlier in his career, he represented office tenants at Avison Young and was named North American Rookie of the Year.

David Rendon, previously with Thor Equities, has joined McCord as Director of Development. In this role, Rendon will oversee development and construction across the company’s vertical projects, including Generation Park’s Lockwood Business Park Building 3, Redemption Square’s medical office building, and Eden Salon Suites. Rendon’s hire follows other recent additions to McCord’s team: Justin Turner as Director of Culinary Hospitality; Nick Cardwell as Vice President of Innovation; and Shawn Cloonan, former Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Medical Center, as General Counsel.
