HOUSTON – Spaces, an Amsterdam-based co-working operator, has leased 53,000 square feet at Post Oak Central for a new co-working center on Post Oak Boulevard, just north of the Galleria.

The company will occupy the first three floors of Two Post Oak Central, a property owned by Parkway Property Investments. The new location is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Parkway was represented in the transaction by Amanda Nebel and Eric Siegrist, while Spaces was represented by Kevin Saxe, Kevin Kushner and Mike Cleary of CBRE.

The build-out will include a ground-floor reception with an internal stairwell, multiple meeting spaces for members, and a private 1,700-square-foot landscaped terrace.

This will be Spaces’ second Houston location, following its first site in Midway’s Kirby Grove office building on Richmond Avenue adjacent to Levy Park. Spaces also operates two co-working centers in the Dallas market.

Post Oak Central, developed by Hines and designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, is a 17-acre office campus featuring three 24-story Class A towers with approximately 1.2 million square feet of office space and ground-floor retail. Two Post Oak Central was completed in 1979; One Post Oak Central opened in 1975 and Three Post Oak Central in 1982.

According to Amanda Nebel, Post Oak Central’s leasing manager, members at the new Spaces location will benefit from the campus amenities, which include an activated central green, a modern conference center, a fitness facility, on-site restaurants and a child care center.

“Houston is rising as a leading city for entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses. We’re pleased to expand our presence here and offer a flexible working environment that enables companies of all sizes to thrive and connect,” said Michael Berretta, Vice President of Network Development for IWG, the parent company of Spaces. “When choosing new sites, we prioritize what matters most to members — a vibrant neighborhood, convenient transportation and strong amenities. Post Oak Central met all those criteria and was an ideal choice for our next Houston location.”

Members at Spaces will also have access to IWG’s global network of more than 3,000 locations worldwide.

Parkway Property Investments is a privately owned real estate investment firm managing approximately 12.6 million square feet of office properties across Sacramento, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and Raleigh.
