Taco Heads Opening Soon in Fort Worth Stockyards: What to Know

FORT WORTH, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Taco Heads, a restaurant dedicated to creating “the perfect taqueria experience for a cult following of taco lovers,” has signed a lease for space in the Fort Worth Stockyards district.

Taco Heads has leased 3,700 square feet at 2341 N. Main Street in the heart of the Stockyards, according to Stream Realty Partners, which represented the building’s owner, KRS Realty Advisors.

“The Stockyards has a rich and storied history within Fort Worth, and KRS is excited about what the future holds for the historic district,” said Kerby Smith, Founder and Principal of Fort Worth-based KRS Realty Advisors. “We’re committed to the district’s success and the redevelopment of 2341 N. Main Street and 111 NW 24th Street. We believe the significant investment in the area will continue to attract consumers, tourists and local residents.”

The property at 2341 N. Main Street is an adaptive re-use project that converted a former office building into a vibrant mixed-use facility featuring retail, restaurant and office spaces.

With more than 100 feet of frontage on Main Street and located one block south of Exchange Avenue, the combined site includes a 7,200-square-foot building and the adjacent 5,500-square-foot structure at 111 NW 24th Street — the former Niles City Post Office, a National Register historic building dating to around 1920. Both buildings received exterior renovations in 2020 by local architecture firm Bennett Benner Partners, which has collaborated with the city’s Historic and Cultural Landmark Commission on multiple successful Stockyards restoration and adaptive reuse projects.

Investors have committed substantial capital to the Stockyards, with more than $250 million in improvements underway — the largest investment surge the district has seen since the early 20th-century railway and meat-packing boom.

This lease marks Taco Heads’ second Fort Worth location and is among several notable transactions recently closed in the historic district, reinforcing the Stockyards’ appeal as a destination for dining, shopping and entertainment.

“Taco Heads is a Fort Worth staple and a welcome addition to the Stockyards. Signing a restaurant lease during COVID underscores the Stockyards’ resilience and the strength of the Fort Worth economy,” said Cullen Donohue, Senior Associate in Stream’s Fort Worth office. “We expect continued capital investment to elevate the Stockyards as a premier destination in the city.”

Taco Heads’ lease at 2341 N. Main Street brings the building to full occupancy. Nearby, the well-known cowboy boot brand Tecovas occupies a 3,500-square-foot space next door. The adjacent building at 111 NW 24th Street, known as 24th & Main, currently has approximately 5,500 square feet available.

Sarah Castillo, founder and owner of Taco Heads, said the new location “gives us the ability to gain additional exposure and further build our brand across the region, while offering customers an authentic taqueria experience in the heart and soul of our city.”

Local architecture and interiors studio 97w designed the facility, which will feature a covered patio and a full bar.

Stream’s leasing team, led by Cullen Donohue and Vic Meyer, represented KRS in the transaction. William Edwards of Stablemade Group represented Taco Heads.
