TruFusion Gym Backed by A-Rod Opens at Post Oak Central
Parkway’s Post Oak Central has been selected for a TruFusion fitness facility.
HOUSTON – TruFusion, the boutique fitness brand backed by former New York Yankees star Alex “A‑Rod” Rodriguez, will open a location at Post Oak Central, the Houston office campus managed by Parkway Property Investments.
Parkway Property has signed a 12,000-square-foot lease with TruFusion for a street-level retail space at 1990 Post Oak Boulevard. This will be TruFusion’s first location in Houston and its third in Texas. The Las Vegas-based fitness concept lists Rodriguez as a board member and investor.
TruFusion was represented by Chris Morrow of Morrow Hill, and Parkway was represented in the lease by Tom Havron, Associate Director at Newmark Knight Frank. The fitness studio is scheduled to open in winter 2019 and will join co‑working operator SPACES, which is also opening at Post Oak Central later this year.
Natalie Buckel, a Nevada-based entrepreneur and TruFusion franchisee, said, “My team and I are thrilled to bring the TruTribe to Houston and partner with Parkway to bring a new level of fitness to this already beautiful and unique property. We are community driven and are excited to immerse ourselves in the Houston lifestyle and introduce everyone to the TruFusion brand.”
TruFusion emphasizes affordability and variety, offering more than 200 classes per week across disciplines such as yoga, barre, Pilates, cycling, cardio, boxing, kettlebell training and numerous boot camps. Since its 2013 launch, the brand has developed a devoted following that includes celebrities and professional athletes.
Post Oak Central sits a few blocks north of the Galleria. The campus is LEED Gold certified and was designed by architect Philip Johnson. The 17‑acre complex includes three 24‑story Class A office towers totaling approximately 1.2 million square feet, one of Uptown Houston’s largest green spaces and a high walkability score.
Amanda Nebel, Parkway’s leasing manager, noted, “The Galleria office market demands high‑end offerings, and we will continue to add premier, specialty operators like TruFusion to elevate Post Oak Central and reposition the campus as a lifestyle destination for tenants and neighbors.”
Parkway currently manages about 11.1 million square feet of office property across strong submarkets in California, Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.
