SPRING, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Wood Partners, an Atlanta-based multifamily real estate development and acquisition firm, has broken ground on Alta Cathedral Lakes, a 300-unit apartment community in Spring, north of Houston.
The project will be located at 698 Basilica Bay Drive within Cathedral Lakes, a new master-planned community in Spring that encompasses 150 acres of mixed-use development.
“The Houston area continues to show robust job growth and strong demand for high-quality apartment homes,” said Bart Barrett, Managing Director for Wood Partners. “We are confident that Alta Cathedral Lakes—given its proximity to major employers, plentiful retail and entertainment options, and desirable school districts—will be a popular community.”
The site at Alta Cathedral Lakes lies less than four miles from The Woodlands Mall and sits directly across I-45 from Springwoods Village.
The Alta Cathedral Lakes apartments are expected to begin preleasing in the fall of 2020, with an estimated opening in the fourth quarter of the year.
Alta Cathedral Lakes expands Wood Partners’ presence in the Houston market. The firm now has eight properties completed or in development in the Houston area and a total of 21 properties across Texas.
Earlier in the year, Wood Partners also broke ground on two additional Houston-area developments: the 304-unit Alta West Alabama in the Greenway/Upper Kirby submarket and the 364-unit Alta River Oaks.
Wood Partners owns 68 properties across the United States, totaling more than 18,000 homes. The firm maintains offices in 18 major markets nationwide, including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orange County, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh‑Durham, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and West Palm Beach.
