Online Furniture Retailer Purchases Distribution Buildings for New HQ
East-West’s property near Almeda Road.
HOUSTON — East-West Furniture, an online importer and distributor, has acquired a two-building industrial distribution complex totaling 172,848 square feet on an eight-acre site at 175 Southbelt Industrial Drive in Houston.
The company, which operates an ecommerce-driven furniture distribution business, chose Houston as the new location for its headquarters and operations after relocating from New England. According to Clay Pritchett of NAI Partners, who represented East-West Furniture, the move positions the company to benefit from Houston’s growing Amazon footprint and the region’s favorable business climate. Pritchett noted that the market for distribution facilities in Houston was highly competitive, and the company conducted an aggressive, year-long search across the greater Houston area before identifying and purchasing the right property.
Oxford Partners’ Derek Russell and Larry Gray served as brokers for the seller, Clark-Elliott LLC.
The industrial facility is located south of Beltway 8 near Almeda Road, providing convenient access to Houston’s transportation network and distribution corridors.
